Traction battery is a power supply element for electric warehouse equipment: loaders, tractors, etc. Their task is to ensure the continuous operation of devices.

Traction batteries vary depending on the type. In alkaline batteries, an aqueous solution of caustic sodium or potassium acts as an electrolyte. These devices can withstand heavy loads, negative temperatures and long-term storage in a discharged state.

Acid batteries have an electrolyte - sulfuric acid. These are more economical batteries, because they work one and a half times more. At the same time, maintenance requires a minimum of expenses. Their disadvantage, as well as alkaline ones, is that they emit toxins during recharging, therefore they require a special room with ventilation.

Lithium-ion batteries have such advantages over acid and alkaline batteries:

• Longer service life (5 thousand cycles for li-ion versus 1.5 thousand for acid);
• Maintenance-free;
• Charged in two hours;
• Do not require a special room for charging;
• No harmful emissions.
